Our Coolwater's Knockout ("Punch") took First
Place in an AKC Derby the weekend of August 9-10, 2008. Way to go, Punch and his
trainers, Bill and Mary Hillman of
Hawkeye Labradors! Punch now packs 39 points and is still
months away from his second birthday.
Jay and Reno earned their AKC Master Hunter (MH) title recently and qualified for the 2008 Master National
as this was their sixth straight pass. Reno and Jay also participated in their
first Super Retriever Series Amateur Event and both look forward to the next one
they will be attending in Huntsville, Alabama in late October.
We are pleased to welcome a new member to the Patton Retriever family: AFC Coolwater's
Makin Trax (Honda). Honda is owned by Alex Washburn of
Coolwater Kennels.
Thank you, Alex, for the opportunity to be a part of Honda's life and for all
the help and support you've been to Jay and Chelsi.
HRC's Spring, 2008 International Grand Hunt Test brought by news with two of our
retrievers and Chelsi! Reno passed his second Grand to earn his GRHRCH
title and Chelsi and Maggie earned the first pass!! Chelsi also
unknowingly made HRC history by becoming the youngest female handler to every
pass a Grand! It was a wonderful week with friends and an enjoyment to see all
and be a part of it. Our thanks to Thad
Simmons for running Reno and helping get Maggie ready for the task. A special
thanks from Chelsi to Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnson of
D-2 Kennels for all their help at the Grand in Georgia and the magic
band-aid.
